i have decided to go for the cheaper option of just getting blue look bulbs to replace the standard ones, i have swapped the main beam and the dipped beam bulbs, just waiting on my
side light bulbs to arrive in the post

has anyone changed the front fog light bulbs or knows how to, i cant see it in the manual

Good stuff! :D

Was it easy changing the bulbs around?

whats the bulb type for the main beam and the sidelights?

Hmm the fogs i not sure but it looks pretty difficult as you need to take out the grill bit or go be hide the wheel arch.

it was really simple, i just went halfords and picked up two pairs of H7 bulbs, you need 1 pair for your dipped beams and 1 pair for your main beams,

open up the bonnet and behind the headlights are two black plastic covers they have a silver sticker on the top of them which if you peel off says void on it, the main beams are the inside covers and the dipped lights are the outside ones, it shows you this in the manual i think its page 212ish,

its just a case of pulling the plug thing out the back of the bulb, unclipping a metal bar over the top and slide the bulb out, its a 5 minute job, just dont touch the bulb with bare fingers as this can damage them, ill take some pictures tomorrow as i did this in the dark so i couldnt take any

i got the super brilliance ones from halfords they are H7's and they make it look quite cool (they are a white/blue bulb), i just need to wait for the side lights which are W5W's (or 501's) i think

bit of a daft question, but as i've never bothered looking at my car with full beams on, when the full beams are on, are the dipped on as well?
I ask as i'm consdiering getting some phillips xtreme light bulbs but this close to chrimbo can't really afford two pairs, so if the dipped are on when mains are on it won't look too daft having the xtreme lights on dipped and thent he standard ones on top as full beams

oh thats good! i like it simple! hmm what do u mean void? as in the whole headlamp or the bulb?

I think you should got osram nightbreakers. Apparently they are like white with a tint of blue to it not the yellowish/white!

mine are white with a tint of blue, there is a little rectangular sticker over the cap behind the headlights so it shows if you have removed it, as you peel it off the sticker then says void on it, not too much to worry about, i guess if your headlights fail they are not covered under warrenty now, but oh well

but they are not. They are more closely to yellowish white. But, they really help in winter(while raining, snowing or driving snowed roads.). NB's good for winter, they don't last long though. Must be around 300 hours life time.

Halogens can't be good with all 3 speciality: Vision, Style, Long lasting.

If; style + long lasting is ok, then vision is not good.
If; vision + long lasting is ok, then style is not good.

I bet you bought 1st or 3rd =) Bluish ones will definately decrease your vision. It is less with the 4350 k ones; "white" ones, not bluish.

I am in need of bulbs which have all the 3 speciality but haven't seen one yet.

P.S : DON'T switch on your engine when lights are on. That causes bulbs to suffer which means less life time.

1) turn off your lights if they are on
2) start the engine
3) turn on your lights again. This will help you to make your bulbs last longer.

Even it looks whiter then x-treme, NB's are yellowish-white. Don't know about x-treme, it must be same though.

Plus, photos may mislead ;) Seeing it in real is the best.

does colour matter? isn't light intensity the most important thing when choosing lights... from what i've read, te phillips xtreme are better in this respect than the osram NB's

doesn't bother me, i'll take improved visability resulting in improved safety and speed over style anyday of the week.
