Bit confused with my folding mirrors!? (if they do fold?)

Guy i bought the car off said they do fold but forgot how they operate, it does show the little pic on the mirror ajustment that the do fold. But since that iv tried everything.

Am i pressing the button wrong?

Is there anything that could go that stops them working?

How can i tell that the mirror are even motorised to fold??

the older leons ( like mine ) have electric foldy mirrors and you have to twist the knob round till the dot is facing down

On my LCR there is switch on drivers door to change mirror adjustment to left and right wing. If you twist this 180 degress, they both fold in. Can occasionaly be tempramental, suprisingly for a Seat.

have you got this switch?

My LCR is the same, i found out by accident ( no i didn't rtfm, haha ), but my apssender side does not work so need fixing, but drivers side work fine...
Twist the nob round so the dot faces south/down as said above.

Another thing thats worth noting is that if you turn the knob round completely clockwise or anti clockwise and then some more it can cause the mirrors not to work! At first i thought they were broken or fuse gone etc but upon turning back and forwards a few times they worked fine again. Whenever i have had probs with not folding i do this and it seems to work again...... Dodgy contacts?

Yep, I found mine by accident too, just picked up the car, moved the mirror as I was going along. Saw the little picture at the bottom, thought, hmm, wonder what that does... needless to say its very unnerving driving a new car with no mirrors!! haha

thought i'd post in here save making a new thread. im having trouble with my mirrors they worked fine yesterday now today they are not folding, they are stuck on the folded in setting, and i dont want to push them out as they seem stuck in place.

the mirrors still adjust fine though, blown fuse? (i did fit my amp yesterday) or just dodgy wiring??? im having flash backs to my alfa!

Rotate teh knob again - Left one - Right One - Centre

If you hear the motors grinding give it a little help folding out.

Sometimes that switch gets a little stupid, the mirror position is a little dumb.

If you twist it a little slow or too fast it does not register very well.

Give it another try.

Ok i've wiggled about with the mirror switched and spent about 10 min turning the nob round and no luck! Is there a chance its a fuse? Also when i wired my amp up i took the glovebox off. Where are the conections to the mirrors? Could i have pulled it out?

anyone?? fuses? any ideas? its doing my headin coz you have to push the mirrors out to drive and they dont"clickanywhere" just sorta flop about till you click them backin the folded in position they originally stoped working in.

When I last disconnected my battery my mirrors were refusing to fold out. I put the switch in one of the fold-out positions and gave the drivers-side mirror a push, it was loose, like no motor was attached. I then moved the switch back and foward between fold-out/fold-in and both mirrors started working again! It's very temperamental.
