I have done a teardown of the installation of an automatic ambient dirt sensor (AADS).

Once the dirt gets to a specified level between 20% to 100% ie covered in crisp packets the AADS kicks in and lowers the footwell lighting to 0%.

It's a nifty little feature which I hope SEAT adopts as standard rather than aftermarket
