my symptoms are exactly the same as this thread .seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=202753&highlight=loss+power although i have not told my dealer that lol.
They put it on their vas 1501? and it came up boost pressure high === possible causes EGR valve, Turbo clean, they have cleaned the EGR valve to no avail hence the turbo clean
sorry about the link just type in the usual then you will see it
if not a quick resume is the minute you boot it hard it goes into limp mode with no dash indication

Limp mode again

Here we go again Less than a year later and same old story 3500 revs in 3rd gear uphill and boom down to 2000 revs and it will not pull any more into limp mode.
Now i dont like going to dealers (on principal) lol
My questions are
1. who is a good (cheap) lol diagnostician in West Cornwall? any ideas anyone?
2. I ve heard on the Mk4 forums you can reset the ECU by disconecting the Battery and touching the Battery terminals togather?
3. How hard is it to take off the Turbo and EGR valve ?? can it be done easily by an owner
4. This time me thinks cellulose thinners to do the cleaning with or else Trichloretheane spray
Any suggestions or help gladly appreciated
kim
p.s. its not used supermarket fuel and is only now due an oil change, have i bought a friday leon? lol

1. Post your request into the VAG-COM section.
2. All it needs is to disconnect the battery and leave for a little while, no need to short the terminals.
3. No idea, I thought you were the mechanic?! :p
4. Is that a question?!?!

How many miles have you done now? Tbh this sounds like a driving style issue. Take a look/search in the tdi section and look for threads about sticky vanes.

If you are doing mainly town/low rev driving, then this will happen. Just be glad you don't have the DPF you thought you did.
