Cant decide between forge 008 or OEM 710p, heard the 710p can hold stage 1 boost without a problem, its much cheaper than the forge too and doesnt require maintenance. Thoughts?

Cheers mate, everyone's talking about the 710N but it's been discontinued ? 710P is the newer one but apparantly not as good.

Who says it not as good? ....... Can't see why they would make a revised version that is less reliable than the old one.

Some lads over on the Audi forum, reckon that the 710P although having a stronger diaghram are less reliable at holding boost than the 710n. Also that since they are made
By kayser rather than Bosch now they're not as good? Going by what you have said and Badger I think it's safe to say that the 710P should be adequate .

Ah right, i've not had any experience of the new ones, but maybe if not made by bosch anymore then that could be the case?? However loads of people have said the 'N' version was crap and leaked boost, (which isn't true) so i wouldn't read too much into it if i was you.

Maybe bill has had some experience of the revised version??.

I prefer the Forge because you know it's working. The diaphragm doesn't last forever and by the time you realise it needs replacing in 8 years time you've been driving around with less horsepower for 12 months.

OEM dv 710p "£35 from tps" I have had for a year now and hold 18psi without issue.
Forge imo is...expensive.

In this case it's not..
buy cheap, buy twice

Anyone thinking a forge one is better...not true, there the same thing just one is serviceable.

I think I'd rather buy twice and forget each time than have to maintain it, saying that I have heard of people having the 710p let them down in fairly quick succession. I'm going to order a 710p from tps, am I right in saying I need 3 25mm-35mm jubilee clips?

Sound has to do with filter used.
Cone or not it's the filter that filters the noise. Paper filter will reduce the sound by quite a lot.
