hi again, does anyone know anything about the universal cai kits such as on ebay for £50 to £80? iv done some research and apparently a cai gives a better noise with the 007p than a cone filter, and iv also read that cone filters are poor due to sucking in hot air? i dont wanna pay £200 plus for a cai so am wondering whether the cheaper ones would do the same as the dearer, all be it with a lower grade filter. Thanks lads

yeah its a cone filter in a plastic case with a cold air feed attached. Iv read alot on the more expensive kits sounding wicked with the 007 but i aint paying the prices of bmc and the like, no link but there at regal-motorsport for £50, come in different colours inc carbon

this is how i have mine set up with a forge 006p.!

hope it helps.

I cant fault my Pipercorss Viper kit - SERIOUS suction for the cold air feed by fog light and the 007p is as loud as my mates Split r!!!!
Never been a fan of cheap filters - usually just sound like a chavvy saxo from halfords or maccy d's car park! Also rubbish when the engine gets hot!!!

With the pipe off it made a noise like an open cone - but with full pipe on it makes the car sound subtily raw and powerful :) just what im aiming for!!

The noise of my 007p changes depending on boost levels, anyone else get this? At low boost its subtle and staggered (bit like a kitten sneezing), at half boost its a loud staggered and at full boost its just loud blow off.

:) So pleased with my set up!! Again, all personal prefrence ehhh - but waiting for the turbo back & de-cat zorst to go on. Going for the subtle but powerful noise and hopefully pop to scare the chavvs!

Yup - gona stick to it from now on, used to have 57i, but now no heat soak on the track it really pays off!! Do you know if I can buy a mesh bit to go on the intake pipe - I hit a sparrow the other day and was genuienly worried that I could of sucked it up into the filter!! LOL!!!

Lol I was just thinking dont wana be scooooping too much feathers and guts outa my filter - but having a very big gauze with like 1" squares in, litterly to stop leaves and small animals being sucked all the way up.

But then again the gauze may act like cheese wire and slice / dice the small animal 1st................. hummmm perhaps leave it and just keep cleaning the filter! hahaha

I have a 100mm feed from where the fog light used to live. It does suck up rather a lot but the no dead budgies, yet :cartman:

thats exactly what i was thinkin of doin, cheers for the pic. whats the filter, powertec?

its a fleabay jobby but sounds nice just ordered another one see how that one sounds.??

yeah yours sounds good Mylo. :) mine sounds good too nice wosssshhhh i did have a cold feed but it seems to have disapeared or got sucked out on the motorway i knew i shoud have cable tied it in..!!!!
