Are you sure you have not got in on 100%recirculation mode, or check the twisty bit on top is turned all the way anti clockwise not clockwise as this will stiffen the spring with in the valve and you will not hear anything due to lack of boost. TRY IT IF NOT IT MUST BE FAULTY.

always happy to help ....its often useful if people have problem if its posted in our section so we can help.

On a few 1.8Ts maybe 1 in 50 or so , have found that the valve is very quiet , no real explanation , it often helps if the car is remapped , ie more boost more sound, also with a CAI the noise is also increased ......all I can suugest is you experiment with the valve and see how you get on with the sound , worst case if you canot get this working how you want it , we will refund you 100 % .

Customers also need to be aware because of the unique design of this valve , ie 60 % - 40 % recirc to atmo , the valve will NOT be as loud as the usual blow off valves you hear on the Subaru's and Evos etc , it will be quiter but will work with no check engine lights ....

Also depends how you drive the car, window's down load it up on a hill and just let off the throttle not using the clutch and see if you can hear anything. People tend to let of the throttle and slowly depress the clutch in which the boost levels drop so not much noise.

You got any feedback on what Forge have suggested?

It might be worth checking that there aren't any leaky pipes too. I had a really small hose leaking under the Inlet manifold. Once I realised it was there, I fixed it and my 007P became much more audible inside the car at low revs and low speed, as did the induction and airflow noise.

Might be why some 1.8T engines aren't as loud as others when using the Split - R.

Indeed this is correct i drive mine hard most times lifting off the throttle quickly.

It is best heard outside the car or when inside with windows up and music down. I think lifting off throttle at 3ooo revs is best sound

Have spent the last 2 hours driving about tryin twisting it anticlockwise clockwise and every postion in between. I have a cupra with 12000 miles on it and it has just been cheacked at seat dealers so should not have any problems . It is just very very quite. My mates 1.3 starlet takes the piss sound wise. I think this will be a good excuse to get the remap though lol.

i think the starlet is and that would be why its so much louder. i have used all the existing hose and dont have an induction kit . Would any of these affect it.

yes the induction kit will make the sound louder , and also the fact that your mates car is 100 % vent to atmosphere is why its louder , the Forge valve recircs 60 % of the air to keep the maf and ECU happy , other 40 % is vented thats why is sounds quieter ....you can have a fully vent to atmo valve on the car that sounds really loud..........but eventually it wont work , you will get check engine lights etc

the dump valve will get warm/hot,its sat very close to your engine and has hot air running through it.
the small vacuum hose on top is supposed to be bent, and a tight fit.
