Hi to all,

I think about to buy a Forge The Splitter, a Recirculation and Blow Off Valve code FMDVSPLTR for my leon 1.8T AUQ engine on stock ECU map, will this have some consequences to engine running, or if there will be some improvement?

They are rubbish get a 007p if you have too, although the standard one is good for 300+ bhp if in good condition.
If you want noise, get an open cone filter jetex or jr :)

The sound is created by the open cone.Either valve is good enough to hear the "dump"

I read the atmospheric DV's aren't good for the 1.8t correct? Seems lots of people run a 007p with an open cone, usually cotton gauze material? But if I stick with the original OEM DV and fit a cone would still sound as good as the 007p I guess as they're both recirculating anyway? My car is standard atm.

I run a 008 which makes the exact same noise as the 007 but since the k&n panel filter as gone in it sounds lots better, and louder swoosh

If I'm just running factory power is it worth upgrading to a forge DV if my OEM unit is still in good working order?

Oh and after some research I want to make a wak box and run a green panel filter. Does anyone know which other vag airboxes from other vehicles are a straight fit for 1.8t cupra 180 air box besides the one it already has? I don't want to balls it up so I'm going to get a cheapy replacement to practice on.

Theres loads of Cupras and Cupra R's breaking on ebay, get a spare air box on there. Most people on here seem to run cones so you might manage to buy one off someone here. Dont know if the 1.8T airbox is the same as other models though but it shouldnt be hard to get one.

I have a 008 and green panel filter (no mods to the air box). Mine doesnt make much noise, you can hear the dump inside with the windows shut coming from the passengers footwell but its quite subtle (I like it like that), cant really hear much outside the car though. If you want volume then an open cone is the only option regardless of the DV you use.
