But why paying money (the car is out of warranty) if the shocks are working fine and the sound is gone?

It looks like it works for the problem you had but it wouldn't work for the monroe inner valve problem on certain shocks .....as that issue dissappear when the dcc is unplugged.
That's exactly the issue I had. When I unplugged the DCC fuse, the sound was gone. When I plugged it back, the sound reappeared. This grease solution fixed it for the momment. We'll see how it goes in time, but they recommended to do it every year.

Hi, any update?

I have the same issue with Monroe DCC shocks on my VZ310 (owning for 3 years - bought new). They are very loud when driving through potholes to the point that I start to believe that the suspension is damaged. Driving me crazy.

Now driving without fuse No 47 and actually enjoying the car very much as it is very comfortable and silent when DCC is off.

I have booked another warranty inspection at the dealer and will see what they say. Previously they simply told: 1) nothing is wrong, 2) known design issue which a lot of VW group cars suffer, 3) no instructions to do anything for the customers from VW/Seat. Ridiculous, I will try to be more pushy...
If you take the relevant fuse out do you know, or will say from your experience, what is the equivalent DCC setting the shocks default to; Comfort, Sport or Cupra?

I'm thinking about my one year old VZ Ateca, which has got bobbling from the front and crashing from the near side rear, to do a fuse out test.

I've got it booked into my preferred dealer but they can't look at it until mid-July (seven weeks away). :-k :-k

Just my assumption it would be towards comfort, as you are disabling the connection for current to open or close those oil flow valves.
Or might be set a desired configuration and unplug the fuse it might stay there.

It was a bit extreme and not right under warranty but my car is now quiet as a mouse after installing kw plug and play coilovers.......its ridiculous that they not only cant fix it but unwilling to try, its all vag parts and unless vw pull the plug on monroe or the affected part numbers you have no chance.

^^^^ Agreed. That’s why I'm sorely tempted to get replacement shocks, probably Bilstein B6 DampTronic (DCC), as I want to preserve OE ride height.

I appreciate Coilovers are the ultimate, my son has Ohlins on his FK8 Civic Type R. Really firm but, as you suggest, quiet as a mouse.
