Formentor VZ 310 & Start Stop

I will be picking up a 2021 Formentor VZ 310 on Friday. Reading some of the posts on here and on FB, I am both worried and excited in equal measure. The fact that start/ stop can't be disabled by OBD Eleven is disappointing, as I had this done on my A5 due to the system being over eager. Does anyone know if there is a start/ stop memory module that works with the Formentor?

It's not an answer to your question, but if you drive in Sport gearbox, auto stop is disabled.

I usually drive in S gearbox so I am not bothered by it at all. I find the D gearbox too sluggish.

start/stop is very smooth on my leon 300. however sometimes i just want it turned of so the fastest way I found to disable it is to press the power button of the infotainment for 2 seconds and an option to disable start/stop appears.

I do not understand why people want to turn it off personally, it saves fuel and the planet. Win win. If u need a quick pull away at a junction, just tap the accelerator. It will start the engine.

I couldnt live in 's' mode of the gearbox, it just keeps the revs high, and with no external exhaust sporty hum, it just sounds embarrassing from the outside, like u cannot drive properly :)

Theres alot of different opinions on auto start/stop systems. Some say it's good, others say that it shortens the engines life due to all the friction going on everytime it starts. I'm no engineer though so i wouldn't know xd However, my previous car was a mini countryman and its start/stop system was horrendously bad and jerky.

In my case, start/stop will sometimes glitch out and sometimes you will end up pressing the throttle only for the car to sit idly - it's like it thinks it's not in gear.

Not sure what you think about no hum in S mode outside. On my VZ310 there is a definite hum outside, and it depends on the revs.

Start stop in my vz is not smooth at all, it's jolty,I was expecting it to better my previous 2012 Q3 I had, which in comparison now felt quite smoother, although I had it disabled via obd11. Now in my vz first thing I do when I start it up is to disable the s/s, don't care if it's eco friendly or not, my nerves matter most.

I dont think there is an issue with the s/s on our cars, its just that is annoying and we cant disable it as we used to with other cars through obd11. If you have a hybrid the s/s works differently as it involves an electric starter to some sort and you cannot notice it at all.

Infotainment bugs aside, it's a great car, u will love it btw.
🤣 funny you should say that. I collected it yesterday and the infotainment screen became unresponsive shortly after I went to collect it. It goes back on Tuesday for a new module or screen. Apart from having a non functioning infotainment, the car is great and the start stop system does not seem as problematic as on the A5 I had. Thanks for the advice.

Stop/Start is very smooth on my VZ1 245 and starts up quickly- there has only been a few times that I've felt the engine cut off. However if you put the engine in eco in personal mode. The car is so sluggish to get going, takes a few seconds to figure out what it wants to do. But like others in the 8 months I've had the car now, I've had no issues whatsoever :)
