Alright everyone.

So my Formentor 245 has arrived only 5 months late, but better late than never (you can still see my leon looking jealous in the background :-( ). I got her yesterday and of course within a day I had pretty much everything Maxton design had to offer ready to go on.

I know theres another thread on here with the maxton bits on called "styling additions", but the photos were quite close up so you can't see the effect too much.

Here she is before for contrast:

And here she is with the bits on. The diffuser and spats at the rear aren't the greatest of fits to be honest, spats are in contact with the exhaust pipes and one is about 1cm too long (to be fair I think these were designed around the quad piped 310 version), and the diffuser needs to be properly glued if you don't want 5ml gaps round the edges at the top, but then removal would be damaging.

Whilst I appreciate everyone's taste is different, I find maxton tuning parts too aliexpress like. The only one that kinda fits is the front lip but then again it would probably get wrecked in the winter/on bad roads/speed bumps.

Maybe it would look better on a black on black colored car due to better contrast but mine is the same magnetic tech grey and I am not too keen on it.

And armrest is probably best for the glasses :D

Yeah I hear you on all of that, and the maxton stuff is cheap and cheerful. I know it adds yet another exterior colour to it too which isn't ideal. I'm not a fan of the lighter grey aspects at the bottom of the body work in the first place. All that being said, it's now at least different to the others which was the main aim without doing so much to it that it becomes stress when its time for it all to come off.
You'd be surprised about the resilience of the bits though, my old Leon had some on for 3 years with no issues and my dad's got a new RS6 which has had some sills and splitter on for over a year without a scratch.

On Leon those bits were straight line and simple. Unfortunately for Formentor they have too many lines and curves for my taste. But your building the car for youself not others :)

Same experience from longevity perspective: Ran through half meter fresh show like snowplow and got few bits of hard ice smashing to front splitter. No issues at all (not even a noticeable scratch). They are not to fragile, but rather flexible.

I've just taken delivery of my vz2 and was looking at Maxton stuff. As it's leased...how easy would it be to take the parts off before I hand it back? Probably a really stupid question but I've never tried upgrading a car before. Thanks all.

You have nothing to worry about in all honesty mate, I've done my last 4 cars with either Maxton sills or other body kits. They mainly bolt on from underneath or are fixed by self tapping screws, with the holes facing the floor. This isn't something they care about when a lease car gets returned. It's also all really easy to remove if you have access to a ramp, slightly more tricky with just a jack.

I stress every time about getting the car ship shape for lease car inspections when really they are so much more lenient than you would expect with scratches, scuffs, wear & tear.
