looking at the FR backbox (which i can see id the same as on the fabia VRs, please correct me if im wrong )

Anyway, after checking my 1.4tdi system http://www.cats-direct-shop.co.uk/exhaust-system-details.php?ID=790208 against the 1.9 pd130 http://www.cats-direct-shop.co.uk/exhaust-system-details.php?ID=780059 I can see that my centre pipe exit is 50mm and the pipe from the VRs/FR box is 56.5mm. So is it possible if I get this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EXHAUST-Pipe-..._CarParts_SM&hash=item3ca77b5f50&x=44&y=5 and 2 clamps it will all fit?

also found this one, where they said they can do them made to measure; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Exhaust-Reduc...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3361fb15bb

The reducer pipe is 51 - 57mm, is that cutting it a bit fine? any issues with the location of where the reducer will be, location of brackets with the extra length from the reducer?
ive got the Cupra rear bumper on already, so the hole is there just waiting for two nice shiny tail pipes. :p

i'd like your expertise please

When I fitted my Octavia VRS (1.8T) exhaust to my 1.9 TDI (Octavia) I realised that I had the same issue as you, with the centre piece having a larger exit onto the backbox than the standard one.

I didn't bother faffing around with adaptors, I went to a local exhaust place and the guy made up a centre exhaust piece which fitted perfectly. Cost me about £30 to be made up.

There must be someone near you that does that sort of thing?

the only places around here are; kwikfit, nationwide auto centre etc, did you mean a place the specialises in custom exhausts?

It was Unipart Auto Motor Services in Stockport. Your local National Tyres & Exhaust place might be able to help too, I've used them before for similar services.

Sorry to ask for help again but from the details of the sizes given in the links in the first post, would i need to get a reducer that is 50.5mm (small end) to 55mm (big end)outer diameter to get it all to fit.

thanks :)

If I was you, personally I'd order the backbox you want complete with the middle section, that way everything will match up perfectly. The middle section will only cost approx £25. I'd have said it's likely that the cat (front pipe) to middle pipe will be exactly the same diameter on both exhausts.

By doing the above you should in theory have a simple bolt on/bolt off job.
