dont forget that bumpers are usually foam filled, and for the bloke to say he can do it before looking may be hasty. also dont forget that rear parking sensors arent even an option on fr/cupra obviously as their rear bumbers are different. dont know how theyre different, but if theyre fully 'foamed' it may cause problems and the black panel may be the only option.
apart from that, it sounds like the dealership didnt want the business. business must be good if they can afford to price themselves out of work!

cheers for the heads up chris. i made a mistake in my last post, the garage i called is actually a SEAT garage (Helix) i got confused cos they are service only. the guy i spoke to said the sensors will be sprayed by the Helix bodyshop and he will fit them. the lady i spoke to on the phone from Helix said all their electrical work went thru this guy and i might aswell contact him direct. so he should know what he's on about..hopefully

i'll speak to him again before it gets done and will probably be around when he does it. i like to watch when i cant do things myself

ive done the search and a number of pics of FR/Cupra's with the colour coded parking sensors and that is what i would ideally like

i know what you mean about the dealer not being interested! i couldnt believe it either so i told them id just go away and think about it (with my forum buddies )
