Spoke to SEAT. They deny that an update will reduce BHP. The guy who called me did seem very convincing, he wouldn't comment on Audi or VW, but assured me that I had been misinformed about SEAT doing this.

Sent an e-mail to Techie and this was his responce.

We have many updates to fix various issues, they are not normally carried out unless you have been in for a related issue (we cant claim them without a compaint). However the latest update on the PD170 is to help with DPF issues, cant see that dropping the power and it doesnt normally feel like it but I dont know that for sure.

THANKS TO ROSS

Just spoken to seat about this they said they do not drop the power they just change the limit the dpf blocks up before the light comes on so say it was 50% its now 75%

This may be true I dont know but this is what seat have told me

It's the snow ball effect, one person hears a rumour, puts the info up on here then all of a sudden it's something that will cause limitless problems to every leon owner, honestly just see how it pans out.

I also had this "recall" On my 2.0 TDI BMN Octavia VRS. The recall was made when i took the car at the dealer for the 30.000 km service. They only told me about it when i picked up the car.
Here in Romania there are a few people that said the cars didn't have the power they had before the "update". They got figures of 150-155 HP on dyno runs.
I didn't see any difference in power but they change something for sure.
Before the software update my car could do 235 km/h. After the update it could only do 215 km/h. The funniest part is that in 5-th gear it goes up to 207 km/h :) The readings are from the dash indicators.

I will be putting the car on a dyno in a few days because this really eates me on the inside :)

When i first heard that the power could be 155 BHP i mesured the torque vith VAG COM and i got a value of 392 NM. On VAS (the dealer diagnostic system) it made 394 NM. I also mesured a friend's 2.0 TDI 140 HP Octavia and had a reading of 370 NM. Therefore i imagined that the reading gives a 50 NM error and yet the car is in good parameters :)
