Free Revo?

after asking the advice of people from this site regarding remaps i booked my self a 5 hour trial of a revo remap. i had the remap done a couple of days ago and for the 5 hours it was on it was better than expected.... the only thing is it doesn't seem to have reset it self back to the original settings! has anyone heard of this before or am i just remembering how great the car is as standard?

i know thats what is surposed to happen but my car is still behaving as it did on the trail and doesnt seem to have gone back to standard, i used to get a huge lump of power at about 1800rpm - 3500 then another lump at 5250rpm till red line after the remap i got no drop off at all, and 2 days on it doesnt seem to have gone back to normal

Bear in mind its 5 hours with the engine on and not just 5 hours on the clock.

ohh ok i did wonder if that was what it was? i still think i have had 5 hours+ driving but poss not. in that case its so stupidly worth the money i need to get it done permanently asap! the guy at the garage said he could remap it himself doing it to the requirements of my car for the same price. Should I stick to the revo one or go with him?

Have you any other mods? Induction kit,dump valve, exhaust etc...?

Give three good reasons why you should go with the guy from the garage's map over a proven supplier?

once the trial is over it reverts back to "perceived standard levels alex", this in fact lower than it originally was before you got the trial map

so unless your sure your going for a map, dont bother with the trials just get the full thing to start with

I'm sure Revo will love that Garage. "Here mate try this Revo software for 5 hours, now once you've decided to get remapped proper I'll take your money instead of Revo... "

You'd be gutted if you got the 5hour trial and ned up in a major traffic jam for the duration.... BTW I believe it's 5 hours ignition time, including ignition on even if the engine isn't running, but someone may want to confirm this....

That's not entirely true, the trial reverts to stock performance levels if anything you're more likely to have slightly more than stock rather than less than stock. I've a feeling you've been reading into too much BS from other 'tuners'!

Trial lasts for 5hrs driving time (wheels turning!), which dealer have you been too Alex?

When i had my Revo trial they told me the trail time was "driving time" so if you're sat at the lights it wouldn't come off the trail time.

Thats strange cause when i had the revo trial, it only lasted 5 hours. Got it done at 4pm went cruising in the evening, then about 9pm the power started to drop slowly, i could def notice the power dropping back to standard......did i get conned with my free trial???!! doesn't matter anyway, after 2 days i went back and brought the revo software!! I love it

rik thats correct the trial stays on the ecu even when its past the 5 hour trial
if you dont want it tell the guy to flash the ecu back to stock because if you where to go for ie apr or other remaps it will be harder to put on over the revo trail and also for your insurance..
