front door speaker pods

the speaker pods/pockets on a mk2 (facelift) are these the same as golf MK2 (gti) ones?

No. Assuing you're talking about the speaker sizes, Mk2 Golf front door speakers (on late spec cars without front quarterlights anyway) are 5 1/4 inch whilst Mk2 Ibiza facelift front door speakers are 6 1/2 inch. If you mean the plastic moulding, they're totally different - though I guess you'd have gathered that from the fact the speakers are different sizes anyway.
