Front Fog Lights

Hi guys - got a 55 plate fr tdi, only had it for 5 days and love it. Not sure if i'm doing something wrong or is there a minor fault with the fog lights.

When i turn on the sidelights or dipped lights the front fog lights come on too.
When i half pull the lights switch the rear fog lights come on.
When i fully pull out the lights switch nothing additional happens.

I thought the half pull was to activate the front fog lights but it seems they come on anyway and there's no way of getting them off! On the 'brightside' i guess, at least they work!

Is this normal?

Ok, my mistake then - so how do i not activate the front fog lights then?

Not sure mate, havent got front fogs only rears.

fogs on mine dont. i CAN put them on with sidelights but would require turning one clikc and pulling out one click too.

illegal to be used unless their foggy aswel.

The switch:

turn one click for side lights
turn two clicks for main beam + sides
Pull one click for front fogs
Pull Two clicks for front + rear fogs.

my guess is someone has played with the wiring?

Thanks for that - the way you described the lights sequence is exactly what i thought from reading the manual! Another minor problem then as well as AIR MASS LOW INPUT & COOLANT TEMP SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH - ta for the help, much appreciated!

Incase anyone else has this daft problem, when the garage took of the area under the dash to replace my brake switch, they must've been a bit rough when replacing the under dash area & the contacts for my fog lights weren't right, which caused my fogs to come on with the normal lights!

My Leon has the same issue. When I turn the light switch the front fog lights lit up, too.
Yesterday I took it off and disassemble it but I couldn't find the problem.
One of the metal plates was darker than the others but still it looked okay. I've also found that when I turn the switch different plates pop up, but when I pull the switch none of them was popping off. Has someone dealt with this issue before?

If you were near I'd say we could just swap because I have a fmic and no front fogs, also I'm out of the country for another 7 weeks.
