Hi all,

Firstly sorry if I posted this in the wrong place! newbie here....ok here goes!

I'm hoping someone can help me with this or can direct me to somewhere that can show me how to do it myself!

Ive always had problems with my back screen pipe popping off for the screen wash during the winter, normally this is something I take to Seat to fix as its only a five min job and is free.

However I recently noticed when I go to use the back windscreen washer that it will still spray the screen however sounds like spraying water coming into my car. At first I thought it was going into the dashboard somewhere but after looking at it again this morning I noticed the carpet had water droplets in the join between the carpet and plastic where the lever for the bonnet is.

It doesnt have any particular strange smell about it but it sounds like its spraying onto the plastic of the lever for the bonnet when I do use the back screen wash. It doesnt do it when I use the front screen wash or any other time.

I'm currently trying to get Seat to pay out to get this sorted as it seems yet another design flaw with the water pipes.

Has anyone had this problem before? Or can you direct me to a DIY page or something encase I need to sort this myself.

Any help or advice would be really appreciated!!!

Oh! its a 1.2 2007 Seat Ibiza Reference Sport...thanks again!

Just had another look today to see if I could find any other clues as to what could be causing the issue.

I had a feel round all three foot pedals and discovered damp around these as well. Also stuck my fingers behind the plastic behind the pedals and it was damp there too.

Again any help would be really appreciated :D

Can't really help in this matter, but one top tip - don't use the rear screen washer! I have the problem with the pipe/connector in the engine bay being popped off but I begrudge fixing it as no doubt it'll do it again somewhere else (the boot being the most likely).

hey willsy33, yer think I'm going to have to end up cutting the pipe from the water bottle off and just give up with the rear washer. A friend of mine has offered to re-pipe it with just one long pipe instead but after spending all of yesterday pulling up the carpet and underlay up, soaking up the new swimming pool in my front & back drivers side footwells with a million towels I think i'd rather not ever have to chance this happening again.

Fingers crossed by the weekend it should all be dried out.

Iv had a Leon at work with this and it turned out to be the windscreen, get someone or you to get in the car with a torch an get a mate to flood the windscreen with water. Should find where it coming from then, hope this helps ya
