Front parking sensor fallen back into bumper

Hi all,

My front passenger side parking sensor has fallen back into the bumper (still visible) and Seat are giving me some silly prices for fixing it (99.00 diagnostic charge, cost of bonding pad to fix sensors back to bumper and then labour to remove bumper and fix it). Does anyone know if it is an easy job to remove the grill above the front number plate to get access to the sensor? Or is it a bumper off job? I might be moving to a Cupra soon so ideally don't wanna be spending hundreds fixing the sensor if don't have to!

Iv attached a few pics to show the grill I mean and the sensor.

Thanks
Mark

The sensor mounts are cheap

You may be able to access it by removing the slam panel cover above the front grill but I suspect it may be a bumper off job

Thanks for the response, I'll have a look at the slam panel to see if I can get access there.
If not, I'll have to take it to a local garage or a SEAT specialist to get the bumper taken off.

Hundreds of pounds to get it sorted at my main dealer seems a bit excessive!

Cheers
Mark

I had a similar problem, same sensor position, but pre-face lift, I managed to get my finger through the grille slot below it and push it back into place. Luckily the mount was still stuck to the bumper, the sensor had only come out of the clips that retain it in the bracket.

That was lucky, I tried to do it myself but I think you need a finger like ET to reach it on the face lift model lol. I think that's what's happen to mine, it's just come of the clips.
