I suggest all those affected ring up and atleast get your case known - the more cases reported the more likely a suitable solution will be found. Strength in numbers and all that.

Yes please, can we all stand together on this

Hope to hear back tomorrow from dealer as well. See what they got to say, I haven't yet been informed actually of the change. So put the question to them myself.

Yep good idea, if enough people complain, ring up and be a nuisance or cancel orders then Seat might act.

Seat have form for doing this sort of under handed thing.
But in this case we're not talking a few £ worth of missing dipping mirror, or tiny luggage net or under seat storage box that they have suddenly removed with out telling anyone , this is £800 worth of parking sensors and optical parking system

Always have watchdog too... I'll wait back for official word from my dealer/seat before going anywhere, but I would think the VAG group would love more negative press following last year....

How many people will complain though, how many new owners will notice or are even aware of all the features

I bet loads if car owners will be surprised yesterday to find their clock is at the right time since last summer, how many of you see people driving about in new cars with their phone stuck to their ears, just because they don't no they've got Bluetooth
Have Sat Navs with old maps and never update software

I don't want to be too critical but I know people like this and they are what companies rely on to get away with things like this

We only get good deals because some people pay full price, whether for cars, Gas & Electric or mobiles

I hope this doesn't sound too superior, but we might not get anywhere with our complaint because there will be customers lining up to buy our rejected cars.

But I'm going to have a fight anyway and please help by joining in, we few

There are a couple of ways to look at this but ultimately you are the one paying for the car so if you are not happy then you need to make the decision of either accepting their compensation and letting this go or rejecting the car.

I doubt a couple of people complaining is going to make a button of difference and I am quite sure Seat are already aware of this thread and are keeping an eye on it too.

If it was me and I wasn't getting what I expected / paid for i'd reject the car but thats easy for me to say sitting here! I certainly wouldn't be letting them retrofit the parking sensors to a brand new car.

Expecting my FR in about 2-3 weeks and not too happy reading this. Ordered a Seat over a VW Golf due to the spec and now Seat have altered it.
What's my choices..
Reject the car - carless until I can get something else
Ask for compensation - I can try
Accept the car and say nothing - no chance

I hope Seat are reading this, they might then appreciate the disappointment felt by customers who have waited 12 weeks for the car of their choice, carefully spec' up for our individual needs.

Nobody is looking for any freebies, just the car that we've ordered.

It's so frustrating that this has happened on a Bank Holiday weekend and also that any offers on rival cars tend to stop at the end of March, roll on tomorrow and hopefully a resolution, but I doubt it

Same here we nearly got a Golf, due to looks and power, we chose a Seat.

I too will be carless if I reject it and ironically I will probably go back to the Golf, so VAG win again!

Although having said that spoke to to VW Dealers today, both promised to call me back, but neither have. The car buying experience is not a pleasure

My dealer JCB hasn't even bothered telling me... was he going to wait until I flew down from Scotland or hope I didn't notice.
I'll be cancelling.. anyone interested there will be a moonstone grey DSG available at JCB.

JCB are mine as well, they did tell me, I could be cruel and say it was because they are delivering it up to me (350 miles) and didn't want to have to drive it back down, but to be fair they seem reasonable people

The 'Build Your Dream Seat' configurator on the Seat website is STILL listing 'Front & rear parking sensors with optical parking system display' as part of the FR spec. If anyone is interested or wants to check, then try pricing up an FR on the website & click on the 'Total ROTR' section towards the top right of the page (then click on the tab titled 'Equipment Highlights')

Also, the on-line tool is STILL missing the new 'FR Assistance Pack', even though this new pack is listed in the February price list...but then again, it would make no sense for this option to be listed on the config tool, as the tool still states front sensors with optics are standard!

You really have to wonder who is in charge of change control/proof reading at Seat.

Annoyingly, it is not only the poor sods who are awaiting delivery that are impacted by this problem, but also, the future/unsuspecting customers, who will be placing orders in the coming days/weeks, thinking they are ordering a car with front sensors & optics.

What's your plan of attack then.. Outright reject or accept an offer of compensation and at what level?

I don't want spurious sensors retro fitted and I doubt they will fit the optics, not interested in compensation, I want the car I ordered!

Probably cancel, although I'm cutting my nose of to spite my face, as I said earlier, knowing the car was in the UK I've sold my current car

Similar situation although I've just advertised my own car, if I cancel I start the looking process over again and I was actually quite happy with the deal I got. Really poor show by Seat and I'm actually disappointed in the dealer for not informing me, a quick email would have been enough instead of me getting the information via an Internet forum.
I'll see what they say tomorrow, might even hang off rejecting the car until the last moment fair's fair after all.

Hi all,

Similar situation here. My FR ST was due for build week beginning 14th March so guessing I'm going to be lacking front sensors too. My dealer is EURO SEAT at Crawley Down, which is part of JCB Group. I haven't heard anything from dealer but emailed them last night to ask them to find out.

If they offer a reasonable amount to compensate for the missing sensors I'll probably take that to be honest as the deal I got is fine for what I want.

SEAT and parking sensors have not been a good experience for me - my Exeo's rear sensors have had problems on and off, so in that regard I'm not that bothered not to have front sensors - one less thing to go wrong!!

As others have said - it would have been much more acceptable to find out about this from SEAT or the dealer themselves, rather than have to stumble across it on an internet forum. VW Group's underhanded ways, I fear... it's a shame I like the Leon so much otherwise I'd probably have gone elsewhere, but there is a limit to just how much I like it! I'll keep you posted...

I've tried to call the dealer this morning without success so email sent asking for an explanation. What's annoying is that I could have had a Golf GT from my local dealer who is excellent, we've had two cars from them over the past 24 months so would have got the loyalty payment and parking sensors, no traveling expenses to the south of England and if I was to add a parking pack to the Leon the Golf would have been cheaper![:@]

Whats the right level of compensation for this, how much should we be looking for?
