I've been in contact with SEAT UK today, my 'case' is being investigated - don't think they had a clue what was going on, but ill see.

Left them with a few options on what to do, ill see what they come back with - Dealer has been excellent and I can't fault them, I genuinely believe its SEAT who have dropped the ball on this one and its the dealers taking the flack.

Have told them to get back to my by Friday and ill make a decision on what I'm doing depending on what is being offered.

So even speccing the rear camera based on the old options model and it still didn't have them! Unbelievable.. How not to win customers.

I too am in the same predicament
Ordered FR in January expecting delivery 1st March..It never came
Had call from dealer saying it will be available 24th so upon arrival at dealers noticed front sensors missing and only tone on the rear sensors..The dealer seemed confused and told us they will look into it..Next day had a call saying that in build week 9 Seat had supply issues with the front sensors..So they have offered £100 and free servicing if we except the car.We told them no and they instantly got back to us with an offer of £500 and retro fitting front sensors but they would not be optical..Still not sure what to do we have until Monday to decide what we want.I am going to contact Seat UK and ask them what is going on??If it's a case having to upgrade at a cost I will be asking for a new order with Seat stumping up the cost...If they refuse we will walk away...
Any comments on this will be appreciated....ps sorry for the long post...
Well we picked up the car today.....We excepted their offer of £500 'goodwill gesture' plus retrofitting front sensors free of charge..Also they have given the car paint protection and thrown in also free mats and 'touch up paint and gloss kit which includes a 'fancy' pen and note book set... and of course the compulsory free tank of fuel...We were not pressured into this at all it was just the mrs wanted her car straight away and was not willing to wait another 9-14 week for another factory order..We were supposed to have the car sooner 1st March but we were told today this was due to supply issues with the 18" sport wheels...We noticed after picking the car up that we had the interior light pack fitted which I'm sure is not standard fit from factory?? which I thought was a wee bonus...lol

ps Another thing we noticed was that the engine 1.4 eco tsi has 'cylinder on demand' which is something else we didn't realise was on the spec...lol
Sorry once again for the long post....

So to now get the front sensors, I'm guessing you need the camera pack ?
Does anyone know how much that is, I'm guessing seat are not charging £250 for it any more :(

Hope to hear back tomorrow from dealer as well. See what they got to say, I haven't yet been informed actually of the change. So put the question to them myself.

I have been told mine was actually built the week before the change happened, even though informed on same day as Pete as vehicle having arrived in the UK. And, dealer has confirmed the car has them factory fitted. I wasn't given the the build week of the vehicle though

Just got my new Leon from 184. This HAS parking sensors fitted. The car was ordered in February.

For the FR, the only way to get Front Sensors is to order the FR Assistance Pack, which consists of the front sensors with optics & the camera. The FR Assistance pack first appeared on February price list & is £375.00. There is still an option to order the camera only (£215), but if you order the camera option, you will just end up with rear senors (presumably without optics?) & the camera.

I have an FR on order & was fortunate enough to learn about the front sensor problem shortly after placing my order (thanks to Peter55), so was able to add the new assistance pack to my order, but to honest, this will be my 1st car from Seat & hearing of the problems that others are having is making me a little apprehensive of the Seat brand in general...shame really, as I really liked the car when I test dove it, so hoping Seat will sort out all those impacted & restore my diminishing confidence in the brand

Quick update for you - I asked my dealer the question, and they are currently clarifying the position with my car with SEAT. Mine was build week 11 so I'm not hopeful it will have the sensors. Watch this space!

My dealer specifically stated the change was build week 9 of this year.He got this information from Seat UK .He was only aware of this a couple of days before we picked the car up...

Hi Seat2016 - do you have your order breakdown which was sent to the factory? As mentioned earlier in the thread, mine shows two separate items - the Rear View Camera and then the "PK2" front and rear parking sensors. I just want to check that it's the same set as what you've ordered so I can relax?! I don't know what the FR Park Assistance Pack looks like on an order form!

Hi d0mj4y,

I do not have a breakdown of what was sent to the factory, all I have is a 'Vehicle Order and Agreement' document from the dealer (received in the post yesterday) - this document lists:

Vehicle Ordered: SEAT LEON HATCHBACK 1.4 EcoTSI 150 FR 5dr (Technology Pack)
Manufacturer Option: FR park assistance pack - Leon

The same document also lists the other options I have ordered (Full Link, Safety Pack 1 - Leon, Winter pack - LEON)

When I initially became aware of 'Front Sensor' saga (a few hours after placing my order), I sent an email to the dealer, asking to add the camera option, thinking this was the option I would need to add to my order to get the front sensors. I came to this conclusion, as the hard copy price list which the dealer had given to me (dated January), did not list the FR Assistance Pack.

It was only after downloading the February price list from the Seat website, that I noticed there was a new option listed for the FR (Assistance Pack) & in the same price list, the standard spec listed for the FR mentioned rear sensors only (as opposed to the standard spec list in the hard copy January price list, which listed front & rear sensors with optics). I subsequently called the dealer at 9a.m the next day & told them to ignore my email asking to add the camera option, but to add the FR Assistance pack instead.

As helpful and friendly as the dealer was, I don't think they were as up to speed as myself on the changes to the standard spec & options. I can only now hope that I have interpreted the latest Seat literature correctly & that the dealer has included my requested options on the order to the factory! I've done everything I can - if the car arrives at the dealer without front sensors, I will reject the car.

Best of luck with your order - I hope you receive the car with front sensors & optics, but I'm honestly not sure about 'PK2'. Is 'PK2' listed as a nil cost or chargeable option on the factory breakdown?

Thanks Seat2016,

The factory order form doesn't have prices on it - it just includes the PK2 as a selected Option. I'll remain hopeful as it's clearly there in black and white that my car should have the front and rear sensors and acts as though it's not a standard feature...

If you do happen to ask your dealer for the factory order form in the future, perhaps you could share what the FR Park Assistance Pack is called please?

Ta!

No worries d0mj4y. I will request a copy of the factory order from the dealer & report back once I have a copy.
