Model Year 21/22 Front radar sensor scratched - will it need replacing?

So there are no faults in any other modules? Nothing in the radar? These fault codes suggest otherwise
I had around 36 fault codes all around the car ranging from low voltage to speakers cause the infotainment was off to the seatbelt warning so nothing relevant to the front assist. After clearing them all the only ones that remained where the red ones that I took a screenshot of and posted which were on the driver assist and cruise control section and the error on the dash remained.

Calibration may fix things but the interesting thing is that the persistent faults are coming from the Driver Assistance control unit, meaning the camera on the windshield, not from the radar. A problem in some unit would definitely cause others also to throw faults but with no fault in the radar, not sure which unit is the suspect and may require calibration here.

Did you check the faults again, after you cleared them & drive 5 minutes & fault showed up on dash ? Still only those 5 persistent ones or also the newly thrown ones in radar too?
I did check the faults the only ones that remained after clearing everything were the 2 red ones that I’ve screenshot. Regarding the dash, the errors come up immediately after switching ignition on, they may or may not disappear whilst driving but if they do disappear, the errors will soon reappear. Checking the obd scanner and it’s still the exact same errors showing up

Possibly why they call the car the Tormentor. As per @East Yorkshire Retrofits if its showing an error code on an Obdeleven scan then thats the one to follow up but if you have a host its a lucky dip. Certainly masked front radar will show up as an error. If you got more than that it needs professionally sorting out.
Yeah that’s definitely the plan. It seems the fault codes responsible for the issues are U112300 and C110BF0. Having looked online I can only find audi s/rs3 and vw golfs with matching fault codes no formentors and all point to the radar sensor needing alignment but reading through the relevant forums the alignments are hit and miss at resolving the issue

Sorry I didn't notice the second image, now I saw two red ones, one in radar, the other in camera.
A search on the radar fault code with restricted view description seem to suggest distorted seating of the radar, i.e. impaired calibration.

Yeah looking online that does seem to be the case. It is weird though as the error randomly disappears and all of the systems function perfectly fine for a bit which throws me off thinking it’s fixed itself. Another commenter suggested that it could be water blocking the sensor, I’ll find a way of blasting the sensor to see if any water comes out and if that doesn’t help it may need to be a trip to a garage for a calibration

Have you checked to make sure the sensor hasn't become dislodged from the bracket in the bumper?

When it requires calibration, they faults you'll see will be stored in address 13 and say something along the lines of "sensor misaligned" or "sensor misadjusted".

U1123 can appear for various reasons, it could even be one of the sporadic faults that you cleared causing the issue.

Once it re-faults we ideally need to see what faults are in 01, 03, 13, 19 and A5.

I will update later today as I re check the obd scanner for that fault but I don’t believe it has become dislodged. I reached around to have a feel for the cable and it all felt fairly solid nothing loose

Those ones of that period were not nicknamed Tormentors for nothing. I assume that since then the bugs were ironed out in the control units. What people say but secondhand cars could come with issues if the previous owner has lived with the faults. The telematic box is one thats being picked up with owners that take on a secondhand car. It was the MQB Evo platform that got the issues, Formentor and Leon 4. That which @East Yorkshire Retrofits say is something of the past. As @serdar_18fr says can cause a cascade of errors, even in other platforms this occurs. Dealers know what to look for. If this, then that.. etc

Okay so after having a look at the obd scanner again, here’s what I found:

01 no faults all clear
03 no faults
13 C110BF0
19 no faults
A5 U112300

I have noticed that the U112300 fault is also active in the airbags control unit 15. im not sure if that’s a correlation or consequence of the same fault on A5.
