Replacing my broken front spring - all off ready to rebuild & I find the spring needs almost no pressure to compress it to get back on strut!
Is this normal? I know when weight of car on it it will obviously support it but any springs Ive done previously take quite a bit of compressing before the strut can be reassembled?
Yes, it is right spring.

If the original and so this new spring are short, ie for lower ride height than some other models of this car, then yes this can be what you find. I had the front springs my 2011 Audi S4 it still has its original factory fitted springs fitted to it, and I was pleasantly surprised how little I had to compress the spring to take the load off the top mounting. It didn't seem to the normal dangerous game I'd end up playing!

I would say no - not normal. What spring have you got? Have you also added the rubber spring seat?
Springs always need preload when for example you drive over a hump back bridge too enthusiastically.
If the car is fitted with lower springs from the factory - like the Cupra - then appropriate (shorter) dampers are also paired with them.
