I bought the part and delivered, there is a long cable comes with it, while the video I found on youtube doesn't have it.
What does it do? and where I should place it? It looks like a cable to pull if there is an emergency?

Can you post a picture of the cable?

Resurrecting an old thread as the lock has failed open on my car. I noticed the additional cord on the parts on ebay. It is clearly an emergency release, but where would it end up so that it is accessible from inside the vehicle?

I'm certain that the opener I fitted didn't have an additional cord.It was definitely a genuine Seat part.

I think that you are meant to leave that orange "emergency release" cord behind the side panel/trim, but a point where you can easily get to it if/when you need to use it.

My old 2011 Audi S4 will have one, I've had the side panel/trim off when adding in some new wiring, but I've forgotten exactly it is located.

After finding that, I made a point of finding out the part number of that plastic release cord, I found one on ebay, for an Audi S1 think, and planning to retro fit it to my wife's 2015 VW Polo which will not have one - but that was about 8 years ago and I dropped that idea as probably the solenoid assembly fitted to cars that don't have this feature, will not be compatible with just fitting a cord/cable to!

So, it looks like maybe even VW Group started adding that cord to the latest version of new solenoids for older cars - if so, that would have been a smart idea.

Maybe I need to re-activate this old idea of mine!

Edit:- from looking at that picture again, it looks like the plan should be to have the "handle" clipped over the rear most or upper most edge of a trim panel using that "clip bracket" at the end of it.

good morning. this is not an OEM opener
This was the correct answer. Lesson learned again! The part is a Chinese copy. The fuel flap would not close flush and one of the plastic tabs broke off the new part the first time it was used. The OEM part is now selling for £50.
