Supermarket diesel is fine, Its made to a standard and it's the cetane that's important in diesel.
Supermarkets buy their fuel from the refineries that supply their own stations, it's the same stuff.

I'll definitely be getting some of that Diesel Rhino once I'm done with the Millers, waiting on the fuel filter to arrive, was nice yesterday but today is poor lol!

nigxl, with the Diesel's most important factor being cetane, are the actually all the same from the fuel stations or different? If there are the same, aside from Millers and the Diesel Rhino, how would you improve the cetane numbers?

I'll be having a power test booked next month after pay day so I can finally see what this old engine of mine is pumping out! :D

Yeah that's the thing, really depends on the day as regards cetane.
The specs are minimum specs, so you could get a batch from one refinery with the bare minimum amount of cetane which as stated could go to a supermarket forecourt or to its own branded forecourt or a competitors forecourt.
The following delivery may come from a separate blend with a higher cetane content, no way of telling really.
The thing is vehicle manufacturers state a minimum spec of diesel for their engines to perform correctly on which is what will be supplied at the pumps.
Sure by all means boost your cetane by Rhino or Millers whatever that's up to you, or just pay more and buy a premium diesel that has a higher cetane value already in it.
Personally I stick to the standard stuff and stick a bit of diesel redex in every other tankful never had any running problems.
What is important is a regular change of the fuel filter on a PD engine as they get crapped up really quickly.
I changed mine after 8000 miles and 2 years, decided to cut it open and see just how dirty it was. Trust me I wouldn't want to run past 10K miles without changing one.
It's a 10 min job and they self prime.

Supermarket diesel is cr@p

When I use it in my wife's fiesta 1.4 TDCi it runs terrible.

Any other stuff like ...Shell, Esso, BP it runs much smoother and quieter....

I'd be inclined to use a different supermarket in that case, maybe find out who supplies their fuel??

Same, nigxl! :)

Mine seems to run fine on both BP and Supermarket fuel so far, although I can't compare them to one another yet since I've put an additive in the BP Diesel :D

Still waiting on my hose clamps and fuel filter, the first Bosch fuel filter that arrived to be sent to me was damaged so they called me up to see if I would like an upgraded version being a Mann? I said to the lady, no thanks I'd rather stick with the Bosch one, since that's what I ordered and have heard more recommendations for. She then said the Mann filter was a better fuel filter overall with it being upgraded over the Bosch and said that it's slightly more expensive too as to which I said to her I am sticking with the one I want and ordered love so could you please get me another Bosch one instead as I'm not paying more nor ordering a different one to what I requested. So should have it soon as it's been posted so it should come tomorrow! :)

Not sure about when the clamps will come yet though haha! XD
