Fuel Pump Relay 409 - Advice please.

I parked up car after recent run at a track day and noticed a funny ticking noise coming from drivers area.I can't remember exactly how i stopped it but it may have been taking out keys or maybe putting keys in,turning ignition on and then off again.

When i got home and parked in garage,i had it happen again. Whilst it was doing it i ran my hands around relays [sounded like a "relay" type noise] and it seemed to be 409 causing it.

I have read on here that 409 is the Fuel Pump Relay. Advice appreciated on a few things please:-
1.is Relay likely to be issue.
2.how much do they cost.
3.do dealers normally have in stock
4.anyway of testing Fuel Pump ok
5.should i see any fault codes if i plug in a reader [no dash light came up]
6.if relay packs up will car not run at all [worrying as i drive to and from track events]

I suppose it could be basically posted in an envelope same as a letter [me obviously to reimberse] ?

Do you know answers to above points,in particular 5 & 6?

Check to see if it corroded from water ingress, the fuse box under the scuttle can drip right on to the relays, my fuel pump relay was corroded, but i noticed it before any mechanical failure whilst fitting cruise control
