Has anyone had fuel rail bolts failure causing fuel to spray into the engine bay. I'm currently in this position not knowing what to do? The dvsa are involved my car is in at an independent vag specialist and it should be a recall as it is in state side on the same family of engines (1.2tsi). In the states if this has happened apparently they are replacing all injectors and fuel rail and the bill will come to £1200 seat should paying for this has anyone else had this problem?

How did you get on with this, ie any movement from SEAT UK in your favour?

Last month I emailed DVSA about this fault, really as an informed and concerned owner of a car with that engine, and so that possible/potential failure waiting to happen.
They did reply and said while they know about this from others reporting to them about it, and they have had discussions with VW Group and have been assured that it does not set the flag or tick enough boxes to be deemed to qualify to be classed as a recall safety based or otherwise - so that is their current final word on this issue. The indications/hints I took away from that was that as the engine will eventually alert you by bringing on a warning indicator, you just need to be sensible and pull over immediately and stop the engine, doing this should avoid any fire risk! The engines ECU should register a low fuel pressure, but that pressure sensor is not in there to monitor fuel pressure and so avoid a fire in this situation.
Well done VW Group, you got off with that as usual.
