fuel sender unit

Hi,

is there anyone out there that can help me??

my old toledo 2.0 sxe fuel gauge is constanstly stuck on empty and the petrol light stays on . even when filled to the brim.

I suspect the fuel sender unit has gone kaput on me, but do you think I can get hold of one reasonable priced anywhere. No.

I rang german and swedish who are vw specialists yet they sais they dont stock them even though there is a vw and audi logo on the top of the unit itself! go figure

Seat want over £170 quid for one, but I was wondering if anyone out there knew the parts number and if the same unit was fitted to any VW or audi models.

the VW golf sender units are reasonable cheap compared to Seat so I was hoping to pick up one or a refurb for a lot cheaper.

Look forward to your comments.

When this happened to me on my old Ibiza TDI, all that had happened was that the float had come off the end of the sensor arm. Worth a look, the float's pretty cheap, if you can still get one.

Lots of parts for the Toledo are sourced from the Golf and Vento. Could be worth checking out at a scrappy before buying.
