say the kid with the yellow leon recommended you if you plan to get it sprayed you can see some cars they've done aswell , vw jetta there looks amazing

the guy sam (pyro) know has done a blinder of a job on UFOYELLOW's LCR, its thanks to seeing his that im doing mine, but then i used to prep for BMW, im doing all the prep my self, im also lucky to have a dad with a 4 birth empty (now) garage and a brother in law who enjoys spraying, not to mention 5L of paint, thinners, primer, sanding equipment all at trade prices lol, so far i have spent less than £200.00 and its set to cost me another £80-£90 depending on if my bro in law runs me out of sandpaper for the front bumper and bonnet tomora night... 115K miles of motorway miles (prev owner) and 6K of me and the mrs miles = HEAVY chippage...

to anyone that has got it cheap. but didnt u say u got it cheap Pyro?

Thats roughly what ill be paying as ive just had a quote of 119 in for 2litres of basecoat Ultimate Green and 2 litres of thinners :D

that all you buying? you doin in door shuts, boot , under bonnet etc? no way you will have enuff

Yeah thats what i was advised by a paint supplier 2 litres of basecoat and 2litres of thinners is meant to be enough for a full respray, and yeh all door shuts and under bonnet will be done

Just done a little digging and apparently as leon is a medium sized hatch 2.5litres will do it, and considering the basecoat once mixed will be 4litres, the 2 litres of paint will be more than enough i think

it al depends what you use out paint is 2-1 i would buy 3 to be safe i painted me bonnet bumper and blown the color in on the wings and used best part of a liter what you doin about clear coat?

TBH id love to have a crack at preppin and paintin it all myself but ive never done it before and dont have premises or a compressor or gun etc lol hoping to learn a bit while mine is being done in the shop

basecoat you mix with thinners and nees clear coating. 2k (2pack) you mix with hardner and dry's gloss no clear needed so make sure you get the right stuff its quicker to do it in 2k but you always get a deeper shine with base and clear

That's almost white before :cartman: I bet you're well happy with it now. Looks like it faded pretty evenly though unless its just the lighting? I can't stand the patch work on mine, wouldn't be so bothered if it faded slightly but stayed even

That was the "good" side! :D

The other side had multicoloured panels and the bumpers and side skirts were a different colour to the rest of the car!

alan can you get some good pics of yor car please :)
