Hi All,

Had my 55 Plate TDI FR 150 for just over a week now and am absolutely loving it.

Can anyone help me with this though ....

When i'm driving along pretty slow possibly in traffic i sometimes feel a bit of a splutter or jerk ... like the car is hicupping ... what could this be ?

Any Ideas ?

Many Thanks
Gav

I think it's a tiny glitch in the computer which wants to get the turbo to kick in around those revs but obviously not enough power going through it, making it judder. I'm not a pro but this is my theory...

sorry for not thanking you guys for the responses .. i dint realise anyone had ... sure ive had no mails about this one. Nothing to worry about then ... that makes me very happy.

Hi All,

Back on this one again as it was happening quite a bit while cruising down the motorway the other night about 70ish. I guess 70ish in sixth is where the turbo would want to start kciking in.

Is it something that has no fix though ?

Cheers
Gav

remembering if you're just cruising there is no boost....

.... but accelerating just a little bit at that sort of speed the turbo kicks in ... you can hear it. i dont have cruise control so when i say cruising i mean to the best of my abilities ... my foots not that steady :)

cruising means keeping roughly the same speed, whether by throttle pedal or not - you won't use much (or no) boost just with small movements of the pedal

m0rk.... your avatar is me !!

WTF!! I'm not here to discuss what crusing is and believe me the turbo is starting to spin everynow and again at that speed, just from a little movement of the accelorater. Looking at the original posts they stated that its at these low revs that the computer is having some kind of glitch. All i want to know of someone.. anyone ... is weather there is a fix to this or if this is something all mk1 tdi fr owners just have to put up with?

my fr+ doesnt do it, so something is not right!

mine use to stutter when very cold and sometimes when driving. took it in to seat who changed the fuel filter and sorted it. (fuel filter was over due)

I've had this prob too but at about 50ish, a bit of stutter. Recently had a prob with fuel (Tesco's but not sure - don't sue me!!!) Try a fuel cleaner and some shell v-power, it's sweet after that:p (Takes only 50miles to work - for me anyway)

Volvic & Rob the Hood ... Many Thanks guys.. sometimes if you just read the forums like you constantly get moaned at you wouldd get completeley the wrong info. If i hadnt of got this info from you guys i would still be under the impression that its a Leon Quirk ... which to be honest i thought must be rubbish .. or a glitch in the computer system that wants to spin the turbo but doesnt have enough power. :)

Cheeers guys ... many thanks ... off to the garage at some point this weekend then i guess :(
