got the good news today that there will be a car waiting at works head office for me to pick up on monday. great because now don't have to clock up miles and carry crap in my own car like last week when had to carry 6 bags of grout, 2 x metre lengths of pipe and 3 manhole lifting hooks - not easy when the boot doesn't open lol (not as in faq by the way). anyway this got me thinking that could get the car sorted out as it wont be used daily now, so i made a little list lol. most are just small and subtle. opinions and suggestions welcome.

just now the car is as follows: cupra alloys, lowered, badgeless grill, dark rear lights, debadged and rear wiper removed.

Definites are:
priority is new turbo and intercooler prob getting done in the next fortnight
new bonnet as mine is dented beyond repair
black vinyl on roof and bonnet
set of spacers to take wheels out from where there hiding lol
silver front indicator bulbs
standard airbox (arrives tomorrow)

Not to sure about:
front splitter (can hopefuly get mk3 golf vr6 one to fit)
different grill although don't think there are many if any at all
the outer star bit of alloys painted different colour
s/s exhaust and remap

Yeah but he doesn't want the regular cupra R splitter. He wants to be different. Think I read his thread on here couple of days ago asking if the vr6 one would fit...

no definite answers....

by the way: whats a fortnight? Is it a full week?

yes i am female, does the name not give it away lol. is the cupra splitter a straight fit? if its only £20 i may aswell by one till i make the vr6 one fit, gotta go pick up my airbox this afternoon anyway.
the thing with the ss exhaust and remap is i think it would be better to get the exhaust done first but my boyfriend wants the remap in the next 2 months. he got a polo gti and thought the most sensible thing to do was both grt it at same time seen as we so bloody far from anywhere just to save making the journey twice.
the only reason i was opting for vinyl rather than getting it painted was so when it came to selling the car whenevr that may be the vinyl can come off if necessary. my mate did another mates passat like two tone with vinyl and made a pretty good job of it, but by what your saying should i think about getting it sprayed?

Thats why i believed you were a female, but someone mentioned "He" and I got confused.

I'd get the remap and zorst first, as you may change your mind on the vinyl, which I dont think will look great imo.

Why would you put anything there? What does it look like now? Yiou took of the original cover on the inside of the hood? Then wasn't it paitned there already? WHen i took mine off i polished it a bit and looks good again.

And by the way sorry for saying "he" i didn;t really look at the name tbh.

well if i get my new turbo and intercooler fitted this month i might go for the remap just depends what my bf ends up doing, i know he got cams to fit first but i don't know if thats a big job lol. the thing with the exhaust is with the car being a tdi i can't find one anywhere so think would have to be custom made. maybe i am just looking in the wrong places though, anybody know?
sorry reuvers im a bit confused and don't know what you are talking about?

Isn't vinyl some kind of leather? and you want to put that over your paint?

If you really want to cover the roof and bonnet and be able to take it off when selling I would get a sticker made to cover it. Just like they do with cabs and busses and even rally cars. Its a lot cheaper than respraying, plus it does no damage to your paint

it is basically a sticker, alot of vag people do it, mainly vw guys

yeah, confusing i know, but there is a vinyl for stickers and a vinyl for seat covering etc, which is a fake leather type

Vinyl in basically big stickers yes
However there are different types..
Pressed being an example with a different texture..

Alot of VW users have it as previously said before..

Im thinking of doing my roof gloss black
Would work well with black bonnet bra
:D
