Hi,

As the title suggests, I am looking at Gap Insurance. I usually tend to go with the dealers offer, but found out I could get it a damn sight cheaper elsewhere.

Does anybody have any suggestions around any Gap Insurance Providers?

Thanks in Advance.
Ben

Potentially ALA

https://www.ala.co.uk

There are discount codes available for these guys too.

+1 for ALA. they also have a price match promise (or they did when I bought GAP cover), so if you find it cheaper elsewhere, they’ll match the price of the alternative GAP insurance provider and then reduce the price by a further small amount.

Discount code PISTON12 will get you 12% discount off ALA website prices for GAP insurance cover.

Or if you want a bigger discount, use code MSE25 for a 25% discount :) That's what I did.

Tested that discount code out earlier and it didn’t work for me, but for anyone thinking of buying GAP through ALA, no harm in trying it.

Edit; just tried MSE25 discount code and it worked, so a great discount for anyone who’s contemplating buying GAP cover at the moment!

Great stuff. I have paid just over £140 for 3 years. A bit more due to selecting the deposit refund and the fact it's PCH.

Much better than the £300/£400 dealers charge and what I have paid previously!!

I paid £113 for 24 months cover including deposit cover from totallossgap.co.uk

Really excellent service too

I also recommend ALA. I got my policy on 28/04.

2 year GAP insurance on a personal contract hire.
£10k, no deposit protection, car value £29,900.

It covers the outstanding rentals and any shortfall in the vehicle value, in addition to the likely cash offer from the insurance provider in the event of a total loss claim, where you have a lease agreement.

Quotes I got:
ala.co.uk £100.50
car2cover.co.uk £104.00
click4gap.co.uk £161.00
directgap.co.uk £109.00
gapinsurance.co.uk £95.58
shortfall.co.uk £88.19
Totallossgap.co.uk £88.19

I then used live chat to get ALA to match the shortfall.co.uk quote.

Plus they cover the excess up to £250 if you claim on your car insurance.
