You can yeah, seen someone with it on the passenger side, whereas mines on the driver.

Cool cheers mate think I may put them on both sides then will decide once have fitted it on one side
I wouldn't try compressing them by hand. If you slip you risk doing yourself a serious injury.
You can put one on each side of the bonnet but if you do then it's advisable to get lower pressure ones otherwise you may struggle to close the bonnet, or the opening force might cause the bonnet to whack you on the chin

One is perfect, there'd be no need for two. You'll see once you have one on
I get the impression that some people are worrying about the "aesthetics". Unless it's a show 'n' shine car, who gives a monkeys. The bonnet is shut 99% of the time so no-one sees it/them anyway

Yeah, it does make things so much quicker and easier.
Such a doddle to install, you'll be happy with it when it's done. For those who are talking about installing one on either side, I wouldn't bother. Install one, give it a try and you'll see that there will be no need for two.

Yeah definitely. Should have come like that. Was concerned it would hit the hid ballast unit but it just clears it so i dont need to re position it.

Got the gas strut fitted this morning. I drilled a hole for the top one in the bonnet, used some JB Weld on the back of the plates to make them a little stronger. Happy with how it looks and seems strong enough. I sprayed the outer plates with a couple of coats of satin black before fitting as they didn't look very good. Painted drilled hole before fitting plates.
Not happy with the bottom plate, doesn't fit very well in the gap there so am going to re-do that one so it's better.
So much better with the gas strut though, should have been standard.
