could feel for it blowing with your hand, not when the engine/turbo is hot. and listen for it.. also some spray and you would see the spray bubble like/blow away or move. liike brake cleaner or something. feel around the turbo to downpipe gasket with your hand with it running you will feel if its blowing and same with turbo to manifold one. thats the only way i think....
- Engine sound would change compared to normal, a bit metallic whirring at "high boost + low rpm" driving in 2nd
- DV hissing would be inaudible
- A slight smell of exhaust gas and/or hot metal around turbo manifold, discernible when turbo is hot
- If the leak becomes larger, you will hear it when engine is cold
