Gearbox behavior on 1.0 TSI

I’ve been driving the Arona FR 1.0 TSI with the automatic gearbox for about 1500 km now, and I’ve started noticing how the gearbox behaves in different conditions. When the engine is cold, gear shifts feel slightly delayed, especially under light throttle. But once the car warms up, everything smooths out — downshifts become quicker, and the response feels more natural.

I guess the DSG is still adapting to my driving style. If anyone’s tried resetting or adapting the gearbox manually, I’d be curious to hear your experience.

I'm just a passenger in one. I dont hear any complaints. Just how good it drives with the 1 litres engine and the DSG. Was a Fiat Punto driver before so use to throwing the car about. Moans about the seats being uncomfortable. You get standard run around seats that gives you pain after an hour or so as any super mini does.

The DQ200 gear box has that reputation, but on a 1 litre TSI is regarded as fine. Suppose to be all ironed out now. They (Vag) swapped to synthetic oil in the gear box, then back to conventional oil. It was suppose to be the synthetic oil which led to the issues that murk its past on Vag cars. The story goes, on larger engines there are still some reports but on a 1 litre its perfectly fine. Certainly you shouldn't chip cars with DSGs or mess about with the gear box.... just asking for trouble.

Thanks for the clarification . Interesting to hear that switching back from synthetic oil actually improved the gearbox behavior. That’s definitely something to keep in mind.

I’ll keep monitoring how mine behaves and might explore that option if needed. Appreciate the insight.
