gearbox probs

not too sure where to put thread this but....

had a lil leak on my gearbox, booked it in (as its just been rebuilt) for them to take a look.
they said there is no leak, but i know there is, he said to keep an eye on it and see if i see it again.

thats no problem

BUT!!! i started to drive home and about 1mile down the road i lost 1st gear!
i limped home doing 2nd gear pull offs

ive played with cable/adjusted them and now i cant get reverse!!!

when i get a min im going to look at cables undercar.

anyone has an idea what it maybe?

other than cables..
there's a lever on the box which engages a lock position-thinks its 3rd gear gate.
shift lever would be in neutral position.

cable spring ends can break or slip

1st place to look.

does box select @ box end?

if you mean the set up thing on the gearlever i dont have it as im on B&M
if you mean gear box end im not sure what you mean!


i want to look underneath to check cables havnt melted or anything silly

strange the way it does it after he touches it

also (maybe realated) after ive given it some beans and im de-accelerating (not always, just time to time) i get a loud hum for about 3 seconds, you can feel it through the wheel

im thinking maybe a combo of flywheel clutch and engine mounts causing it!?!?!
or am i wrong

lever is @ g'box end. its used to setup.
cables and ends 1st thing to check

buzzing something touching on overrun?

dont think its anything touching bill as its real loud and the vibrating is strong

what kinda thing was you thinking that may of been touching?

downpipe onto rack seems an obvious one.
driveshaft onto downpipe?

had a play with linkage and seems ok at mo! got all my gears back!

how would it of gone out of sync? can the cables slip?

i had to get trading standards involved in the gearbox leak today!! as soon as i told the gearbox man he told me it will be done by tomorrow nite lol
