gearknob/centre console removal

Hi guys, trying to remove my carpets to dry them out! got the seats out etc, does anyone know how to remove the gearstick gaitor/gearknob to get the centre console out? i have removed all the bolts just cant see how the gearknob surround is removed!!

its clipped in afaik matey, prize one end and carefully unclip the rest....

to remove the knob is simple, take off the one time use clip(youll have to buy anoither from vw) slide the knob off the shatf and he presto the gaiter comes with it.
