il have a go and see if i like, no harm in trying. the noise i get from the filter and standard dv seems to be louder on low boost and when i let my foot off the loud pedal fast, i thought it would be louder the more boost i was pushing, unless its just being drowned out by the roar

your prob letting off just as your hitting spike and thats why it sounds louder

yeah its just as the boost starts to kick in, sounds wicked. but when i gun it up the revs i cant seem to hear it as distinctly, obviously engine noise is drowning it out a bit. whats the crack with the n249 bypass, u reckon i should get that done, dont really understand what it is

yea when you first come on boost the pressure is higher than it will be at the red line and thats why the dump is louder,my car felt more responsive when i did the bypass so id say yea its worth doing, cheap quick mod and if you dont like it youve not realy lost out :)

Iv noticed a little bit lower down the rev range but nothing massive, im gonna open her up a little on my way to work so should no more tommorow, iv spent all day with my windows down listning to the recirc ha ha geek

i was that eager i virtually kicked it out lol, i just undid the bolts, pulled the lot out and skipped it, all in all removing the airbox, fitting the cone and breather filter took about 5 mins so i was well pleased. lets hope fitting the 007 tommora goes just as easily, it doesnt look hard

the basterd thing is massive, i may have to remove the top of the airbox or something...the maf seems to be getting in the way of me just yanking the whole thing out...
let us know what type of performance your getting when you give it the beans :)

get the remap done and ur gonna be ******* all day long.

the battery cover got in the way for me aswell as a little pipe thing pointing into the wing, but a bit of a tickle and a good yank and it whipped straight out. Theres a massive gap where the airbox used to be though, i might find my oil leak now lol, im not sure whether to go jabba remap or amd chip, heard amd are better from veedubz where i live. both see around same gains like. il pop a post up 2mora when iv cooked it up the dual carrageway, im hoping to see some sort of gain high up as the mid range is pretty good as it is

yeh that pipe thing pointing to the wing is doing my compete nut in lol - im sure ill get round to it tommorow.

did your cone filter pop straight into your maf, used a jubilee clip right?

Yeh the filter should give you better performance higher up becuase of the increase in air flow :)

Ive got a REVO map which is really aggressive mid-range. I do alot of a-b driving so its the perfect map for me.
whichever map you get, be careful of the Torque steer, i nearly looked like a lemon on the first day as i nearly went into this tree that had a 'ive lost my cat poster' on it.

do a good search on search here, there are so many threads on these different mapping companies :)

yeah straight on to the maf although iv read that extending with silicone hose by around 100mm is better as it gives the intake more time to smooth the flow, rather than just getting banged straight into your maf from all directions, sounds like it could work so i might order some pipe. my mate had his golf turbo revo'd and it was decent like, but there £150 dearer than jabba at £450 to £299.99, thing is theres a revo 15 miles from me in darlington, jabbas the other side of the world. I can remember my other pals golf turbo with an amd as i was gonna buy it off him and what i can remember i found the boost was like an on/off switch, it either kicked the **** out of you or ran like a corsa sxi lol

yeh mate, ive got the silicon extension and alloy joiner - someone on here recommended it to me so i just bought it all in one - with the jetex filter.

yeh revo have a SPS switch which allows you to actually change the boost and timing levels.
this basically means u have quite alot of control on how you want the boost to come in...
mess about with different settings etc etc

why not get a revo 5 hour trial?

true it is a bit more expensive though.

i was looking at them, how do you go about that? just ring the dealer and take it in? i wanted to change all the hoses to silicone before i got it mapped as im frightened il blow the standards with the extra boost. do you reckon that will be a problem joeb
