getting jacking point covers to look good?

I’m a total amateur and am trying to paint replacement side skirt jacking point covers myself. I have applied two coats of paint (from spray can) and the finish is a little under par. Should I be lightly sanding down between coats with wet & dry paper etc and again before lacquer ?

Any tips from someone who has done their own covers would be most appreciated. I really do not want to shell out on a bodyshop to sort these bloody things again...

I had an attempt to spray a replacement cover back in December on my Cupra. The results are O.K. although not to the same standard as a bodyshop. I didn't sand mine down as the covers were already primed.

As my Cupra is Emocian Red I haven't applied any lacquer on it and the finish is acceptable.

To be honest if your car looks o.k. with your spraying attempt I would just leave it as is. You may loose it sooner than you think.

You could really do with using 2 PAK undercoat one with a separate hardener that way you can control how quick it dries, Generally you will do the same with the Top coat /Lacquer but yes some wet and dry will help by uses a very fine grain you may need to go to a body repair shop for a decent grade

thanks for the feedback and advice. I reckon it will prob look aw right, just not great... Very good point about loosing again though so Ill prob be an expert by time i get through the next set and the next and the...
