OK, on the uprights on the back of the doors, i have carbon fibre effect material, and also on the boot where the number plate is...

Can i take this off and is it a case of just gentle persuasion, or will it damage the paint, or is it not painted underneath.
I want to take it off and buff the paint underneath so that its got no carbon fibre on it, and just have the paint showing underneath

Ive taken it off a regular GTi, (black material) but this carbon fibre stuff seems to be thicker?

Thanks in advance

Yup i had it on my 16v, admittitly its a yellow and i thought the carbon fibre affect looked good excpet when i kept getting condinsation between the clear rubber and the carbon fibre on the rear...

Id personally keep it ;), saves damging anything in the process too ;)

But make sure you go really easy on it when you peel it off, as the lacquer tends to come off with it as well.

Personally I'm keeping mine on because IMO it looks different, but really good on the beeza. Bit like the white multispokes.

dont know what its called but that bit circled ;)

yes tom ;)
get it warm with a hot air gun(not too close now)or a powerful hair dryer

The only reason I said that is because there's another window and panel between my door and my rear window! ;)

Ah so my import loses something then - not that I'm bothered :)

they are usually black Tom_b anyway

not seen many with the carbon effect to be honest

but your right there is the b pillar itself covered too under the door :)

I think I know what pattern you're thinking of, isnt it more chequred than carbon?

I've seen it on an Ibiza before, it might've been my mums old Cupra 1.8T.
