glove box lock

i have just busted my glove box lock and wanted to know if the No. on the inside (1M2 857 161 X26510 AL3) is the part No for that bit or not? and can i just get the lock part or do i have to get a whole glove box?

the actual handle and barrel is fine its just the long part inside the door thats held in with screws.

just pop to a scrappy mate and pop the part you need out of a smashed one unles its the key part then not a clue hope i wsa some kind of help

i know that the audi a3 has the same glove box so does anyone know if the lock mechanism part no. will be the same or what it is because there is an audi place just down the road and the nearest seat place is like 20 miles away.

its the number stamped on the inside of it. where would i find its right part no then?

Mine fell to bits took it apart and put it back together all is good now

it wont close. even more so since i took the lock bit out. and the string holding it shut looks out of place.

the handle came clean off when it wouldn't open before. one of the half moon lugs that holds the handle in place has broken. i have tried to fix it but glue wont hold it so i need a new one

o rite get you now so why not just go a breakers and get the hole door? only time i use mine is to change cds once a month

i dont know of any local ones and id rather get a new part anyway. i use my glove box to lock away my head unit when i park in public places.

i tried that first. the bit where the half moon of the handle slots in to has snaped clean off and its too slim for glue to hold it.

simular thing happend to me aswell i just made a thread and put some pictures up of the damage. Spending money on things atm which i cant afford to spend

i need the grey one, i saw that part no, in this thread but its diffrent to whats stamped on mine and it looks black.
