GM Dexos 2 Oil

I bought some of this oil fairly recently from ebay...

Not guna lie, it was cheap!

It's GM Dexos 2 Oil. It states that it conforms to VW 505.0 (which is correct for my Mk1 Leon 110 TD SE as far as I am aware),

However, the engine doesn't sound as smooth as before I changed the oil, sounds way more "tappety" if that's the right expression?

Has anyone else used this oil, do you think I should change to quantum or something similar?

I bought Dexos 2 for my brothers BMW 5 series worked perfectly, I needed two 5 Litres , much cheaper then eBay I would recommend,
Did you change your oil filter?

Yeah changed the oil filter and fitted a magnetic sump plug as well

Were you using 10w40 beforehand by any chance ? if so you may want go back to it, as 5w30 GM Dexos 2 is a brilliant oil but is thinner and could be causing the extra engine noise
