I went for GY Asym3 since its a daily driver.
I have had Mich PSS and they were good on dry but not on wet...

Oddly enough, I would say that the PSS has outstanding wet grip levels. I have them fitted to my Renaultsport Megane and have found them the best tyre I've ever fitted to a car for road use irrespective of vehicle. When I kill the Conti 5P's on my 290, I'll be fitting the PSS replacement tyre, the 4S.

When did you order and have you received your tires yet? No sign of mine yet :( it's only been 6 days so far, not panicking yet. .

I ordered mine Monday. He said he didn't have them in stock so would have to order them in and they'd be there by the end of the week, then ship them to me so would be early next week. Said he'd give me the tracking number when he's sent them

Just a quick question - Why didn't anyone stay with the conti sport 5s ?
I found them to be a very good Tyre .
Now have bridgestone s001 tyres on mine - and there not a patch on the contis !
Contis were good good in wet and dry conditions - got 12K miles off the front - rears did double that . Bridgestones just dont handle the wet/damp conditions - find the TCS goes nuts at the first sign of moisture .
Am I missing something ? :(

You didn't read all the posts about Bridgestones did you, you naughty boy... :p

I found the conti's to be awful on my 290! Far to much engine bang and they make a funny noise on certain roads, plus I killed the front and rears in 3900 miles, I've only been running super sports for about a week but the difference is night and day!

Yeah, the previous 280 had them. Pretty poor tbh. Changed them for Goodyear Assys after 10k. Current 290 has the Conti's on , they are better than the Bridgestones but still , imo, not as good as the Assy's.

I too have found no problems in the wet with PSS's and I like to press on, on a good county road.

popped into Costco today and they do the Goodyear Assys for £142 per corner fitted inc vat. that is pretty good.

PS4s come in at £190 per corner.

My 290 came with Pirelli P-zero's which I've found to be pretty reasonable.

When did they make the switch to them?

That's the thing, £150 a corner is what I paid for my conti 6's but £192 for the PS4s! I love my my and all that but there is a limit. lol

Very impressed running Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on the front of my Cupra 290 ST for the 1st time this weekend.
Had been running winter tyres since autumn and used the changeover to try the Sport 4S out having read all the good reviews.
From my memory their a significant improvement over the Pirelli P-Zero's that came on the car.
Axle hop now all but gone. Was still there at times with the P-Zero's last summer and the winter's with the 034 motorsport lower engine mount bush fitted.
In a mix of dry and damp conditions the car felt better than ever.

I phoned Kwik Fit and I NEVER go there as they have always been so expensive. They quoted me for two PS4s fitted today for £351.98 all in. I have always gone to other smaller companies but they cannot get the deals Kwik-fit can get at the moment.

Happy days.

I got 2 PS4s fully fitted etc for £181 each from mytyres.co.uk which was cheapest I could find so your deal looks pretty good.
