Got Cat-back, but is it now worth going for Full exhaust system?

I have a power flow exhaust from the cat back which i love but am now thinking should i get the full system?

How much would i be looking at to get a sports CAT, and are they ok when it comes to having your MOT?

Forgive me for my lack of knowledge but what else do i have to get to make it a full system, so need down pipe and sports cat......

Any recommendations?

Is it worth it as i have got a Dynatwist Induction kit and a forge DV 007 and mite one day get a remap, will i notice much benefit by spending all this extra money to get a full system? will it work better with the induction kit and DV?

well if you were impressed with the cat back, then you will be pleased with a sports cat and downpipe as this is where the restriction is. However are you pleased simply because of the louder exhaust? - please dont say the car is much quicker with it. Its louder not quicker.

Sports cats are usually ok with MOTs, many got the 100 cell sports cat (higher the number the better it works pollution wise, lower the number the less restriction).
However i would strongly recommend the 200 cell cat as there is a nats c()ck difference for performance but will save potential hassle mot wise for a long time.

Piper are one of a few that do these, (others include blueflame and miltek, although miltek may not do a downpipe) off the top of my head they are around £650 for the downpipe and sports cat from piper as one piece, and the same price for both as seperate pieces. These were designed to fit to the standard exhaust so should allow you to keep the current cat back.

A downpipe cat and induction should allow you to run stage 2 remap software, but with setting a little safe as you dont have a front mount intercooler.

I think you can put a sports cat on without remap ok, but have a chat with a supplier, as stage 2 software either ignores or changes the second lamba sensor readings (or something like that) as otherwise you will get fault codes. - im not sure if this a stage 2 issue or cat issue..

If you are not planning on a remap then dont bother with the downpipe, its not needed and you will spend another few £s fitting it. However if you are goingto remap it makes sense to get the exhaust first then get a map that takes advantage of it.

At the moment i think i will not bother as im not planning to get a remap as i feel it will stress the engine out and im mainly looking to just making the car run smoother..... with induction kit ect.

The powerflow exhaust does make it sound great and the induction kit makes it feel smoother but im sure it does not add much if any BHP or performance to my cat TBH.

I have a full Piper exhaust on my LC and it passed the MOT with the sports cat no problem. I was a little worried before the MOT too!

One of the first changes I made to my LCR was a stainless cat back exhaust system from MIJ performance in Walsall. The old exhaust was knackered so had a good excuse for a new one. The car felt a little smoother but did not notice any real power gain!
2 years on I have just had a de-cat pipe for £130 fitted again from MIJ. The old cat will bolt straight back on for MOT. The difference is huge, this time there is a real gain in power. It does get a tad noisy though.........

there is off course the option of just replacing the cat for a sports cat. much of the gain without the mot hassle.

Is that gain in power just from the de-cat or have you had any remaps done?

my car has been re-mapped but I still noticed a positive difference when the decat was fitted
