getting around 39mpg according to the trip counter (since i've bought the car i haven't reset it again) But i kindof shaft that as i have 2 large hills near me that i usually get around 20 going up. Also not done any motorway/bypass driving, so around 40 isn't too bad i guess. I do drive in 5th gear at pretty much all times though.

Yeah i find that to get the 40mpg you gotta get it into 5th pretty quick, maybe 1st to 4th are just short cut gear ratios and the 5th is a motorway gear? dunno oh well!! :D

:roflmao:

Octavia VRS alloys. Not the new shape Octavia. But the well known one.

:) very nice mate, how much do they set you back?

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat! i think i may have to purchase some of those!! Also im thinking of getting an induction kit, does this affect insurance though?

You should inform them of it yeah, and as it aparently is performance enhancing they'll likely put your insurance up.

Matter of opinion I guess.

I think my cars fast enough and the filter is cheap to replace when it comes to service time so I've not bothered with an aftermarket one at all... but some people fit them anyways. :)

ahh right cheers lads, don't think im gunna bother... as you said chris, mines fast enough atm and the induction kit is a bit steep at £100 for just a few filters! might test run the revo mod and see what difference that makes :)

Maybe go for a cheaper panel filter? Like Greenpanel or K&N? Think my induction kit was £60ish.

And a pd160 air intake if they fit the petrols.

ahh not bad, only thing thats puttin me of at the moment is the insurance... i would feel inclined to tell them and im only 18 so my premium will take a big hit for that i think lol

I wouldnt bother with a panel filter tbh. Up to you though. :)

Im only 19...

oh right! better! what bhp is your car currently running at? Mines still only 100.. i want 150 but thats a little irrealistic!

Was 150ish when I had it rolling roaded. But had it mapped again since and it's much better now. :D

The only reason I'd say not to worry about telling them about a panel filter is because it's hidden in the air box and I've never known an engineer to open the airbox to check the air filter! Plus if the air box IS damaged in an accident - they will just automatically put you down for a new airbox and filter.

My insurance on me Formula Sport is £220 fully comp with business cover ( But I am 39 with 7years NCB )

ahh right might try and find a new air filter then :D my insurance is £900 a year fully comp as well i got 2 years ncb :D so i guess i could up it a little lol

I also bought a twin chrome tailpipe for 1.4 DAB, chopped about 6 inches off and it fits perfectly and looks ace. Finishes the back of the car off really well. Got mine from halfords for 30 quid. The hole in the bumper is for a twin pipe anyway.
