Yeah there really easy to adjust. Before i go the ring nxt wk i may drop it a bit more, get it looking like a touring car haha.

You may get a squeak, depends on the wheel size and offset I suppose.

As for adjusting, they are really easy, rears are stupidly easy!

Just make sure you keep them greased and reasonably clean. I use a spray on white grease and apply it once every 2 weeks.

Nice job lads, the cars are looking great,
I fitted a set of Jamex coilovers last week to my LCR, will get pics up tomorrow, so we can compare.
In the last 2 days though i have got creaking/groaning when turning the steering at low speeds, any ideas, its really annoying and can be heard outside the car!!

Also as said before, keep em greased up and adjusting them is super easy, i used copper grease, its all i had at the time, didn't even have to remove the from wheels, just jack it up and reach round the tyre, i am well happy with these coilovers.
I still have loads lower to go, but for now it is down about 25mm. me thinks 10mm spacers are on the way

they are still a budget coilover so damping is not adjustable and the chances of you being happy with the set damping rate is pretty slim you will probably find aside from not being adjustable your stock suspension will give a better ride, I understand people have a budget but why ruin the ride, You should have saved for a set of KW V1 or V2 kits the stainless steel is a plus on our salty winter roads too you will find those ap ones will fur up rather quick if you dont keep on top of them hope they turn out ok just dont go too low with soft damping!

The turning is probably down to the strutt top bearings or the bushings needing greased.
Grease is good but dry film lube would be better as grease will attract little stones and 'stuff' where dry film lube won't but will still give you the lubrisity.
25mm on a LCR looks the best TBH, anything more and the rear wheel comes forward in the arch and it looks a little wrong. 10mm spacers on the rear would look good too

Thanks Willie, I didn't fit them, but i would nearly bet that the people in garage didn't grease them up, i assume they will need to be taken off the car now to grease them up?

mine do squeak a little but its the plastic collor on them. Dont even see what its doing tobe fair. The squeaking is slowly going away tho.

i think i've decided on Weitec 50mm springs & shocks, if they lower 30mm hope they don't look odd. I've looked at Skahigh's and an extra cm can't be that bad ...can it

well er........ i dont honestly see what the little plastic collar does!

Not fully off of the car but loosened off and relaxed to give you access through the top mounts.

I rang the garage that fitted my coilovers, and asked them did they use lubrication on the top mounts, to which they answered NO, i then asked did the mechanic observe the correct torque values for the Hex nuts on the mounts, he answered, well they tightened them up good and tight!!!

No wonder they are groaing at me, he must have tighted them crap out of them, where they should only be 60nm.

Problems solved, it is definetly the top mounts,i can hear them if i put my ear to them and get someone to turn the steerin wheel.

no i have to go and buy new top mounts and get them fitted cause of these idiots, i will not be going back to the same garage.

i might even do it myself if it is not that big of a job, at least i know they will be done right.

TBh buying new bits is perhaps a bit of an over kill. The bushes should be fine and the bearings might be better with a bit of grease inem.
i would try just the grease route first then if that doesn't work get the bits

^^ agreed. As long as the mounts aren't worn, you won't have to get new ones. When you take them off (not a big job) make sure the bearing is the right way round i.e. the smooth side facing upwards with plenty of lube. The threaded bush is probably the most important piece to be honest, making sure that it's properly tightened againt the bearing is crucial, as this allows the strut to rotate properly. Saying that, too tight is not good!

Your's are slightly different to the exploded drawing but the same as the pictures before it. The difference is the washer is attached to the nut in our case (the top one).
