I ordered mine back when it was black Friday sales. I took advantage of awesome sale. Rang my insurance company and they don't cover any modifications at all, regardless of age or driver, so now its sitting in my bedroom until I can change insurance in April. I could've cancelled my policy but it would've cost too much overall just to legally have it on the car. :(

Could you not just install it and not notify your insurance company? If you have a prang, just rip it out again and say you're stripping the car for parts?

Haha, yeah I could do. But I was worried about putting the OEM system back, had a feeling it was either such a pig to do or nigh on impossible so never bothered. Plus I did try removing the engine cover....Jesus, that's one tough and stubborn b4stard.

After that I decided I'd rather have peace of mind and declare everything so I'm now waiting...cannot wait to put it on though!

Well lets face it, if you have that bad of a prang that involves your insurance company, you wouldn't need to put the OEM system back.. It's not that difficult to reassemble, just putting the cover back on the grommets will be a bit of a bitch to do..

I did think of that, only in a serious scenario would they send them out....hmm.

Talking about the filter, don't you guys think its a little small? The actual element itself.

I thought it was pretty big to be honest bud, but then the true bottle neck is the 2.5" turbo inlet, which you could have a 12" ;).. cone.. it wouldn't make a difference as it will only be able to pull in as much air as the diameter of the turbo will allow.. but it can be argued to death, just my $0.02

I agree, the p-flo pipe diameter is 70mm, so why not make it the same diameter as the turbo inlet. But either why, its all going in the same place so probably makes the minimalist of difference.

Just so people can see for size reference.. kinda stuffed if you don't
own a PS3..

Well the arse ache part was removing this:

Once the cover was off, it was fiddling around with the heat shield
which you CANNOT get your hands down the back of to retighten
the nuts once the shield goes on!

If you do install it by yourself couple things to note..

1)Have a star key set!! MOST IMPORTANT!!
2) The clips to tighten the reducer are a b**tard to get to, so make
sure you have a narrow flathead screwdriver!!
3) make sure you have a decent set of long nose plyers to unclip the OEM intake!
4) The heat shield has screws and nuts which will require a spanner, but I couldn't get my hands
underneath the new heat shield to put the nuts back on, so just retightened the screws!
5) Have alot of patience, and don't do it in -2 temperatures like I did lol

I put mine on wile it wo snowing lol big mistake got soaked and looked like a snowman lol. Ide definately just fit it.. Its worth it. The problem i had most was the reducer fiting and tightening to the turbo.other than that quiet easy. When i took my engine cover off i snapd it so b careful. It dunt really matter for me tho because i going to get a neuspeed engine cover to finish look off in engine bay
Good look pal

I'd like to try and modify the OEM cover to put back on, but want another one in case I break my one. Plus it keeps the bay looking neat and tidy.

Apparently the OEM cover from an Audi TTS will, or is a direct fit. So if you can find a cheap one of those going on rt the bay, that might be worth trying.

I fitted mine in around 20 minutes. . . And had no issues with the inlet pipe clamp or the heat shield. How are some people finding it difficult?
