Hi all,

I collected the Cupra yesterday. What a carry on i had at the Seat garage but never mind.....!
I am very impressed with the power and speed of the car. It is stupidly fast.

However im not impressed with the MPG - i nipped out for lunch today and was getting under 17mpg until the car got warmed up (and that wasnt even driving fast).

Over all, I love the car.:D

ps - had a nightmare with Arnold Clarke in Newcastle - wont be buying anything else from them!!!

get some pictures up ;) don't worry about the mpg, on short trips it won't be good overall thought its not bad, i reckon mine is returning around 29mpg.

As for Arnold Shark, your not the only person to have complained about them :)

Things seem to be getting sorted with them now im dealing directly with the manager and not the "idiot" who sold me the car. They were supposed to have the K1 body kit on and have the White alloys sprayed black for me..... got there and nothing had been done. Ree car with White wheels!!!! Im a Newcastle Supporter for god sake!
Anyway theyre sorting it out tomrrow.
Ill try and get some pics up - never done it before tho saying as im new on here.....

Congrats on getting your Cupra.
MPG wise I get about 27 MPG a week with a lot of short Stop start 1 mile trips in traffic, some 5 - 6 mile trips and a bit of fun driving at the weekend which for yhe car is fine.

I know what you mean about Arnold Clarke. I had a New Astra from their Winsdord branch a few years ago and before I collected the car I noticed one of the skirts was not fitted right and they promised to sort it before I collected it 2 weeks later. However they did collect the car a couple of weeks after I had it and left me with a like for like and sorted the problem.

mine was the same when new, it gets better the more miles you put on it.

congrats on the purchase !! ive only had mine 2 months and the grin factor hasnt gone one bit !! you will love it !! :D

i thought the same on the mpg on mine, for the first 100 miles i was only getting 42 on my ecomotive. now on 300 miles the engine seems to be loosening up and am getting 63mpg just driving at legal speeds without causing tailbacks.

Dont get me started with AC Ncl. Got mine from there and I could tell you a tale or too, but its not good for my blood pressure, have had lots of quality issues too though.

The idiots in Alexander Bridge down the road are worse though, so for me, no more Seat's after this (unless a new dealer opens in the 'Toon'!)

I bought my Cupra from Arnold Clark Newcastle just over two years ago. The sales guys are OK in my opinion, although I know what your getting at. They are more of a car supermarket than a dealer who gives your normal personal customer service from a dealer franchise.

The part that really annoyed me about them was the move of their service department to the Ford site 800 metres down the road. Again this takes away the personal part of the experience. In the good old days you could drop off your car and browse the forecourt and potentially buy a new car. Now your directed behind the Ford dealership,

I feel that ita a case off drop you car off and the service is a quick turn around and the personal touch has gone.

Hopefully this will all change when they move into the new purpose built site at the end of this year.

Im deffinatly going to write a letter of complaint in now! After all of this feedback from yous lot above, just backs up my case.
I think ill try and get a free service or two for the stress and disruption the sales team have caused me!!
