Green temp sender, is it a preventative measure?

Checked the wiring diagrams. The coolant gauge sender G2 is connected to earth at one side and directly to the dash temperature gauge on the other side. The dash gauge G3 is connected to the dash panel control unit, almost certainly so that it is fed with a regulated voltage, maybe 12V.

The fuel gauge G1 is connected in a similar fashion directly to the fuel gauge sender G

I think both these gauges are direct-reading, not processed by the ECU or dash at all.

The coolant temperature sender G62 is connected to the ECU on both sides.

Just read this "post" with interest as I had similar questions to those on the last page and couldn't get my head round why the climatronic says correct temp and the dash doesn't! I'll be getting a new gauge at the weekend!!! :)

Thanks guys
Dave
