Grille help please

Just took the front grille off my cupra ready for the paintjob tomorrow. My problem is how im going to fit the middle bit (the black plastic lined stuff with the seat badge on) to the actual outer grille. My old one has these melted rivet type things on that are no way coming off or reusable.

i have the same problem i have just bought a badgeless grill.. and im struggling to get it back on i just cut the old grill off but im stumped on getin g it back on

looks like it has been melted?? I really need to get this done by tonight so il appreciate any help!

There are plastic welded on when knew. I just re-melted them and pulled the grille off. When I re-fitted them I just used some self-tapping screws and the grille is in place with no movement.

all sorted now!!

I ended up placing the inner grille over the spikes then just melt the ends with a lighter, then flatten with a big ended screwdriver until its cooled down then hey presto its bang on!

Quit easy tbh )h btw dont breathe the fumes in

yeah, when doing mine i just got a lighter and melted it off. When putting the new one on i use some little screws.
